Adil Karam ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you visit our website or engage with our consulting services.

Information You Provide
- Contact Information: Name, email address, phone number, and company name when you contact us or schedule a consultation
- Communication Data: Content of messages you send through our contact forms or email
- Newsletter Subscriptions: Email address if you subscribe to our newsletter
Information Collected Automatically
- Analytics Data: We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-focused analytics service that does not use cookies or collect personal data. We track page views and referral sources in aggregate only.
- Technical Data: Browser type, device type, and general location (country level) for website optimization.
- Real-time Visitor Notifications: We send a one-per-session notification to the site owner containing the page path, referring URL, and a truncated browser/device string. No identifying information is stored server-side beyond what is required to deliver the notification.
- LinkedIn Insight Tag:When enabled, we load LinkedIn's Insight Tag for retargeting and campaign measurement. LinkedIn may set cookies in your browser under its own privacy terms. You can opt out via your LinkedIn ad preferences.

Cookies
Our analytics provider (Plausible) is cookieless. Third-party embeds (Cal.com, HubSpot) may set cookies necessary for their functionality. If the LinkedIn Insight Tag is enabled, LinkedIn may set cookies under its own terms for retargeting purposes.
Coaching Program
If you apply to or enroll in the coaching program, we collect additional information so we can evaluate fit, deliver the program, and support operations.
Application Data
The coaching application form collects your name, email address, LinkedIn URL, current role, company, what you want to build, why now, weekly time commitment, and how you heard about the program.
CRM and Applicant Management
Coaching application data is stored in HubSpot so we can review applications, segment applicants, and communicate about admissions decisions and onboarding.
Payments
Payments for the coaching program are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full payment card information on this website. Stripe's privacy practices are described in the Stripe Privacy Policy.
Session Recordings
Live coaching sessions are hosted on Zoom and recorded so enrolled members can catch up on missed sessions. Recordings are stored in the program workspace and are accessible only to Adil and authorized operations support. Unless a longer retention period is required for an active member issue, recordings are retained for up to 24 months after a cohort ends and then deleted or archived offline.
Group Communication
Group communication may take place in Slack or WhatsApp, depending on the cohort setup. Messages, shared files, and member interactions in those platforms are processed according to the provider's own privacy practices in addition to this policy.
Ascend Academy
If you join the Ascend Academy waitlist or enroll as a paying member, we collect additional information so we can deliver the program, handle payments, and communicate with you about the cohort and Cyber Career Office Hours.
Waitlist Data
The Ascend Academy waitlist form collects your name, email address, experience level, track interest (Cyber or AI for Security Careers), optional learning goals, optional referral source, and an optional flag indicating interest in Cyber Career Office Hours. This data is stored in HubSpot so we can review signups, segment the list, and contact you before the cohort opens publicly.
Automated Pre-Launch Emails
We send a sequence of pre-launch emails to waitlist members via Resend. The sending schedule is orchestrated by a Vercel Cron job that reads HubSpot contacts and tracks which drip emails have already been sent to each contact using a HubSpot custom property named academy_drips_sent. You can unsubscribe at any time via the unsubscribe link in each message or by emailing hello@adilkaram.com.
Academy Payments
Ascend Academy cohort enrollments ($3,500 or $7,000 one-time, or 4 monthly payments of $999) and Cyber Career Office Hours subscriptions ($49/month) are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full payment card information on this website. Stripe's privacy practices are described in the Stripe Privacy Policy. When a payment completes, Stripe sends a signed webhook event to our server; the event typically contains the customer's name, email, and payment amount. That information is used to send a confirmation email via Resend and notify the site owner.
Real-time Admin Notifications (Telegram)
Waitlist signups and completed Academy purchases trigger a real-time notification to the site owner via Telegram. The notification contains your name, email, and a short summary of the signup or purchase. No payment card details are shared through Telegram.
Cohort Delivery Data
Once you enroll, we may process additional data needed to deliver the program: calendar invites (for the weekly class and 1:1 sessions), Zoom meeting attendance and recordings, private community membership, and capstone project submissions. Zoom recordings are retained for up to 24 months after a cohort ends and then deleted or archived offline.
