Introduction

Adil Karam ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you visit our website or engage with our consulting services.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide

  • Contact Information: Name, email address, phone number, and company name when you contact us or schedule a consultation
  • Communication Data: Content of messages you send through our contact forms or email
  • Newsletter Subscriptions: Email address if you subscribe to our newsletter

Information Collected Automatically

  • Analytics Data: We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-focused analytics service that does not use cookies or collect personal data. We track page views and referral sources in aggregate only.
  • Technical Data: Browser type, device type, and general location (country level) for website optimization.
  • Real-time Visitor Notifications: We send a one-per-session notification to the site owner containing the page path, referring URL, and a truncated browser/device string. No identifying information is stored server-side beyond what is required to deliver the notification.
  • LinkedIn Insight Tag:When enabled, we load LinkedIn's Insight Tag for retargeting and campaign measurement. LinkedIn may set cookies in your browser under its own privacy terms. You can opt out via your LinkedIn ad preferences.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share information with:

  • Service Providers: Cal.com (scheduling), HubSpot (CRM and email), Plausible (analytics), Resend (transactional email), Stripe (payment processing for existing Academy and coaching enrollments), Telegram (real-time admin notifications), Vercel (site hosting and scheduled cron jobs)
  • Legal Requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights

Data Retention

We retain your personal data only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy, or as required by law. You may request deletion of your data at any time.

Cookies

Our analytics provider (Plausible) is cookieless. Third-party embeds (Cal.com, HubSpot) may set cookies necessary for their functionality. If the LinkedIn Insight Tag is enabled, LinkedIn may set cookies under its own terms for retargeting purposes.

Coaching Program

The coaching program is retired from the public site. We retain data only for existing enrollments and legal obligations. New applications are not accepted on this website.

Application Data (existing records)

Past coaching applications collected name, email address, LinkedIn URL, current role, company, what the applicant wanted to build, why now, weekly time commitment, and how they heard about the program.

CRM and Applicant Management

Existing coaching application data remains in HubSpot so we can support current enrollments and honor deletion requests.

Payments

Payments for existing coaching enrollments were processed by Stripe. We do not store full payment card information on this website. Stripe's privacy practices are described in the Stripe Privacy Policy.

Session Recordings

Live coaching sessions were hosted on Zoom and recorded so enrolled members could catch up on missed sessions. Recordings remain in the program workspace and are accessible only to Adil and authorized operations support. Unless a longer retention period is required for an active member issue, recordings are retained for up to 24 months after a cohort ends and then deleted or archived offline.

Group Communication

Group communication may have taken place in Slack or WhatsApp, depending on the cohort setup. Messages, shared files, and member interactions in those platforms are processed according to the provider's own privacy practices in addition to this policy.

Ascend Academy

Ascend Academy was a paid educational program. The waitlist and enrollment forms are retired. We retain data only for existing enrollments and legal obligations.

Waitlist Data (existing records)

The retired waitlist form collected name, email address, experience level, track interest (Cyber or AI for Security Careers), optional learning goals, optional referral source, and an optional flag indicating interest in Cyber Career Office Hours. Existing records remain in HubSpot so we can support current enrollments and honor deletion or unsubscribe requests.

Automated Pre-Launch Emails

We sent a sequence of pre-launch emails to waitlist members via Resend. You can unsubscribe at any time via the unsubscribe link in each message or by emailing hello@adilkaram.com.

Academy Payments

Existing Ascend Academy enrollments and Cyber Career Office Hours subscriptions were processed by Stripe. We do not store full payment card information on this website. Stripe's privacy practices are described in the Stripe Privacy Policy.

Cohort Delivery Data

For existing enrollments we may still process data needed to finish delivery: calendar invites, Zoom attendance and recordings, private community membership, and capstone submissions. Zoom recordings are retained for up to 24 months after a cohort ends and then deleted or archived offline.
