A career switcher at a laptop in a modern loft workspace, with cybersecurity dashboards softly glowing on the screen
First class starts May 1. Half off for the first 20 students.

Break into cyber.Taught by the person who hires.

Breaking into cybersecurity is confusing. Most of the advice online comes from people who don't actually do the hiring. I do. For 20 years I've been the one reading resumes and making offers. In 12 weeks, I'll teach you what I look for and walk you to your first role.

First live class: May 1, 2026First 20 students: half off ($3,500)First 5 also get a bonus 1:1 — 5 left
20 years

I've built and led security teams at large companies, not trained people from a classroom

The hiring side

I'm the person reading your resume, asking the questions, and deciding who joins my team

20 seats

the first class is capped at 20 so you get real time with me, not a waiting room

Start with a clear path to your first role, not more conflicting advice from the internet
Walk into interviews knowing what the person across the table is actually listening for
Build a resume, LinkedIn, and story that beats more technical candidates on paper
Get direct 1:1 time with me every two weeks, not a Slack bot and a Loom library
Start with Cyber, AI for Security is next

One cohort live now. A second on the way.

Break Into Cyber is the flagship cohort I'm launching first. I built it for career switchers and IT pros pivoting into security. AI for Security Careers comes next, shaped by what the waitlist tells me you want to learn.

Break Into Cyber

Launching first

The 12-week cohort I wish existed when I was starting out

For: People with no tech background who want a first security role, and IT folks (help desk, sysadmin, network, devops) ready to pivot into security

  • Finally understand how security actually works inside a real business, not just in a lab
  • Know what the person hiring you is really listening for in the interview
  • Have a resume, LinkedIn, and story that beats more technical candidates on paper
  • Get live coaching, 1:1 sessions, and mock interviews with me across all 12 weeks

AI for Security Careers

Coming soon

The next cohort, once I prove the first one

For: Same career switchers and IT pivots who want to understand how AI is reshaping the roles they're aiming at

  • I'll walk you through how AI is changing the SOC, GRC, and security-engineering roles
  • I'll teach the AI skills that are already appearing on modern security job descriptions
  • I'll show you how to talk about GenAI, agents, and AI governance in interviews
  • I'll position you for the hybrid AI-and-security roles appearing now

Tell me on the waitlist which track pulls you in. I'm shipping the one you ask for first.

12 weeks, week by week

What we actually do in the program.

No filler weeks. No 200-hour video library to grind through. Just the path I would walk if I were starting from scratch today, taught live.

  1. 01Weeks 1-2

    How security actually works

The boardroom lens — risk, compliance, incidents, and what a CISO worries about at 2am.

    • How security teams are structured and where you fit in
    • Risk in plain English — why every control actually exists
    • Walk through a real incident response timeline
    • Vocabulary you will hear in every single interview
  2. 02Weeks 3-4

The stack you will be hired into

Just enough technical depth to interview, without drowning in lab tutorials.

    • SOC operations, alerts, and what triage actually looks like
    • Vulnerability management end-to-end
    • Identity and access management — the hiring manager's bread and butter
    • Cloud security basics across AWS, Azure, and GCP
  3. 03Weeks 5-6

    The story that wins offers

Rebuild your resume, LinkedIn, and pitch so it beats more technical candidates on paper.

    • Translate your non-traditional background into security language
    • Resume and LinkedIn rewrite reviewed by me directly
    • Your 90-second pitch for any conversation
    • How to talk credibly about projects you have not done yet
  4. 04Weeks 7-8

Mock interviews with me on the hiring side

The reps you cannot get anywhere else — me asking the questions I actually ask.

    • Behavioral interview reps with full feedback
    • Technical questions for the role you are targeting
    • Panel interview simulation
    • How to handle the questions you do not know the answer to
  5. 05Weeks 9-10

Portfolio project on a real company scenario

A finished artifact you can show any hiring manager.

    • Choose from anonymized company scenarios I have worked on
    • Build a security plan, risk register, or incident retro
    • Reviewed and red-teamed by me
    • Polished into a public-friendly write-up for LinkedIn or your portfolio
  6. 06Weeks 11-12

    Offer, onboarding, and growth

What to do once the offer comes in, and how to grow from your first role.

    • Salary negotiation scripts and ranges by role
    • What to ask in the final-stage interview
    • Your first 90 days in a security role
    • The 18-month plan from analyst to specialist

The first 5 students get a bonus 1:1 before week 1 to tailor the first two weeks to their background.

What you walk out with

A finished portfolio, a real letter, and a hiring CISO in your corner.

These aren't auto-generated. The certificate and the letter are awarded only to graduates who finish the program and the capstone — they mean something because not everyone earns one.

Certificate of Completion

Verifiable certificate from Ascend Academy you can post on LinkedIn and attach to applications.

Letter of Recommendation, signed by me

Personalized letter on letterhead from a working CISO. Awarded to graduates who complete the program and the capstone.

Portfolio capstone

A finished, hiring-manager-ready security project on a real company scenario you can show anywhere.

Rebuilt resume and LinkedIn

Reviewed by me directly. Positioned to win interviews against more technical candidates.

Lifetime community access

Private community of every Ascend Academy graduate, plus my monthly Q&A for alumni only.

90 days of post-program office hours

After the program ends, weekly office hours with me for 90 days as you land your first role.

Frequently asked

What most people want to know.

Who is this actually for?+

Two people. The first is the career switcher from outside tech, considering a move into cybersecurity and trying to figure out where to start. The second is the IT professional (help desk, sysadmin, network, devops) who already does security-adjacent work and wants to pivot into a security role. This is not for senior security leaders or people already hiring into the field.

When does the first class start?+

The first live class is May 1, 2026. The waitlist is open right now, and the first 20 students get the program for $3,500 instead of $7,000. Once those 20 seats are gone, the next class runs at the full $7,000.

Do I need a tech background to join?+

No. I built this for career switchers and IT professionals who want a credible path into security. You bring curiosity and a willingness to show up weekly. I teach the rest.

How is this different from Springboard, Flatiron, TryHackMe, or Cybrary?+

Those platforms teach the content: labs, certs, concepts. They are good at that. What they cannot give you is the perspective of the person on the other side of the interview. I am the one reading resumes and deciding who joins the team. You learn not just the work, but what a hiring manager is actually listening for, how to tell your story so it beats more technical candidates, and how to position yourself for roles that get offered instead of just advertised. Small cohort, real 1:1 time with me, no automated grading.

What does it cost?+

The full price is $7,000 for the 12-week program — weekly live classes, six 1:1 sessions with me, a portfolio project, and 90 days of office hours afterward. The first 20 students get half off at $3,500, and you can either pay in full or split it into 4 monthly payments of $999. Many career switchers also get this reimbursed by their current employer's professional development budget — happy to provide an invoice for that. Most graduates earn back the cost within 60 days of starting their first security role.

Do you guarantee a job?+

No. Any program promising a job is either lying, hiding the fine print, or padding placement with low-quality roles. I publish real cohort outcomes (interviews, offers, roles landed) and focus on making sure you walk out with the narrative, portfolio, and interview skills to compete.

What do I actually walk out with — certificate, LOR, all of that?+

Yes. Graduates get a verifiable Certificate of Completion you can post on LinkedIn and attach to applications, plus a personalized Letter of Recommendation from me on letterhead — signed as a working CISO, not a generic instructor. You also walk out with a finished portfolio project on a real company scenario, a rebuilt resume and LinkedIn reviewed by me, and lifetime community access. The certificate and LOR are awarded only to people who finish the program and the capstone — they mean something because not everyone gets one.

Can I just pay now or do I have to wait?+

You can pay now. The first 20 students lock in the $3,500 half-off price and a seat in the May 1 class. The first 5 to pay also get a bonus 1:1 with me before the class starts. The waitlist exists for people who want a few days to think about it or to make sure the program is right for them before committing. Either path works.
